John Allen “Little John” Medina, 57 of Sioux City, died Monday, August 21, 2017 at a local hospital. Memorial service will be held with a dinner at 6pm Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Four Directions Community Center.

John Allen “Little John” Medina was born January 18, 1960 in Winnebago, Nebraska the son of Ruperto and Olive (LeClaire) Medina. Little John grew up and lived his life in Sioux City, Iowa.

He enjoyed going to the Casino’s in North Sioux City, playing darts, and pool. Little John was the guy you turned to when you need anything he would always be there for you no matter what. He was a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe.

Little John is survived by his three sons Jarvis Medina of SD., Raymond Torrez of Sioux City, Joshua Rockwood of Sioux City, two daughters; Sonya Fatland of SD., and Amanda Fatland of Sisseton, three brothers; Wayne (Lily) Medina, Dave (Alice) Medina, Rick Medina all of Sioux City, and three sisters; Marlyn (Jim) Dillon, Violet Carosby, and Angel (John Briggs) Medina all of Sioux City, several grandchildren, and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Patricia (Fred) Mondragon of New Mexico, Juanita (John) Medina, and Linda (Zeferino Orlega) Medina both from Sioux City.
