John James Johnson, 74, of Sioux City, IA, passed away May 14, 2024, at a local hospital.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 18th at _2:00 p.m., with a visitation to follow at Rustin Ave. Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

John was born on July 27, 1949, in Sioux City, IA to John L. and Letha D. (Riordan) Johnson.  He graduated from East High School in 1967 and went on to attend Morningside College.  John worked at Perkins Stationary for 42 years.  John put his family first and enjoyed spending time with them.  He was a huge sports fan and especially loved the Nebraska Huskers.  He had his beautiful dog Holly who was loved more than you will ever know.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Letha D Johnson of Sioux City, IA; his sisters: Judy A Winkel of Sioux City IA and Jean M. Johnson of Des Moines, IA; several nieces and nephews: Katie (Clarence La Dell), Karena, Larry, Melissa, John, Jennifer, and his great nieces and great nephews: Curtis, Kaliena, Christian, Caleb, Cameron, Kaydence, and Izaak; his great-great nephew, William; and two sisters-in-law, Cindy Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa and Patti Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska.

He is preceded in death by his father, John L. Johnson; and his brothers, Roy D. Johnson and Larry L. Johnson Sr. and brothers-in-law, Dick W Winkel and Darrell Hancock.
