Jack Holdren, 89 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at his home, with his wife at his side. Services will be held 10:00am Monday, April 17, 2023, at Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by United States Air Force and American Legion 662. Visitation will be held a half hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jack was born Friday, January 5, 1934, in Yankton, South Dakota to John W. and DeLilah (Garnjobst) Holdren. Jack graduated high school in 1953 and joined the Air Force in 1954. He was honorably discharged in 1957. He then married Barbara Miner in June 1957. Jack and Barbara raised 3 children, Glenna, Randy and David.
Jack learned the sheet metal trade in 1958 and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union for nearly 60 years. After retiring, Jack did apartment maintenance for 9 years and his spare time did Intarsia Wood Working. He was always very proud of his work, whether it was his creative wood working projects or work he did on his home or at his job. Jack and Barbara took many trips together until his health declined.
Jack is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Barbara; his children, Randy (Connie) Holdren and David Holdren; 2 grandchildren, Dr. Christopher Via of Florida and Lydia Buckley (Dana) of Sioux City; 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Evonne Cole.
Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Glenna; his parents; 4 sisters and their husbands and a sister-in-law and her husband.
   
   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Croix Hospice or the Siouxland Humane Society.
