John W. Adams, 91 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at a care facility. No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

John Wickersham Adams was born October 3, 1930 on his Aunt Katie and Uncle George Stivers’ farm to his parents Jesse and Florence (Garlinghouse) Adams. He was baptized in 1943 in Richmond, Indiana and was a lifelong Jehovah’s Witness. He was introduced to Bonita Kathan by mutual friends. They married June 20, 1963 in Pierre, South Dakota and spent 58 years together. John enjoyed hobbies including motorcycles and fast cars, even making some of these himself.

John joined the Iron Workers Union in 1957 and withdrew in 1980 due to health reasons.

John is survived by his wife, Bonita; his daughter Almeda Mae (Juan) Garcia; granddaughter Cynthia Garcia; and many lifelong friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers James Adams, Denny Adams, Clifford Adams, and Charles Weber; his sister Almeda Mae who passed away at age 5; his special pets Beau, Lady, and Chuco.
