Obituary

Joe L. Guy, 53, of Yankton, South Dakota passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 pm Sunday, October 22 at Skyline Bar & Casino 103 N. Highway 105, North Sioux City, SD. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Joe Lee Guy was born Sunday, July 19, 1970, in Sioux City, Iowa to Ronnie and Connie (Comstock) Guy. He was raised by his dad and his "moms" Lisa Bristol and Colleen Guy in Sioux City.

Joe was a skilled mason and handyman. He showed his love through his work for others. Even if he didn’t have the skills, he would learn what he needed. Crafting himself into a jack of all trades, Joe guided the lives of those around him. Joe had a strong sense of right and wrong, doing the right thing was important to him.

Joe was a loving father, brother and friend. He cared about his family and children above all else. He would do anything to help and support them…insisting that they learn things the hard way so they would never need to learn it again. He was a soft-hearted and very hardheaded man and so very proud.

He is survived by his children Kelly Guy (Jessica), John Guy, Nicole Guy, Sevi Guy, Candi (Sunjo) Chang, and Cassie (Justin) Bianco; grandchildren Enzly, Kaiden, Lincoln, Raegan, McKinley, and Brooks; siblings Jamie (Dixie), Jody (Cortney), Deanna (Paul), Bobbi Jo (Casey), JaNean (Al), Patti, Mike (Summer) and Jessica (Jeremy); as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Andrea, his father Ronnie, and his grandparents.
