JoAnn C. Lussier, 75, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at a local hospital. Services will be held 10:30 am Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City with Rev. David Hemann officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
JoAnn was born on October 24, 1941 in Hartington, Nebraska to Edmond and Helen (Thelen) Schmidt. She graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1960. JoAnn married William Lussier on August 18, 1962, together they made their home in the Leeds area.
JoAnn worked for Weller Plastic and Brothers Box Company. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. JoAnn enjoyed going to concerts at the Band Shell and always looked forward to meeting up with her friends at Taco Johns for their monthly get together. Family was the most important aspect of JoAnn's life, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Kevin Lussier of Sioux City; three daughters, Brenda (Bryan) McCuddin of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Debbie Dicks of Sioux City and Shari (William) Kelly of Sioux City; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Noreen) Schmidt of Sioux City; and sisters, Carol (Herb) Schatz of Sergeant Bluff and Linda Brinkerhoff of Sioux City.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Teresa Lussier; granddaughter, Paula Dicks; and great grandson, Jimmy Benjamin.
