Obituary
JoAnn M. Glessner, 89, of Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City died Thursday, October, 13, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Whiting, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held 10:00am Friday, October 21, 2016 at Skien Lutheran Church, 1129 Aspen Ave, Sloan, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff. Online condolences may be sent to www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.
JoAnn was born May 13, 1927 in Overly, North Dakota the daughter of Clarence and Helen Rude. She grew up and graduated from High School in North Dakota. JoAnn married John Glessner. Together they made their home in Pierre, SD where they farmed on a ranch. John died in 1976. After her retirement in the late 1980’s, JoAnn moved to the Sioux City area to be near her family. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed going to the casinos.
Survivors include her 3 children, Hal (Emma) Glessner of Pierre, SD., JoAnn (Brian) Bourguignon of Oceanside, Cal. And Connie (Jeff) Solien of Sloan, IA; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings; Richard, Tom, Donny, and Mary
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; 4 siblings and a daughter Vickie Glessner.
