Joan Betty Cote, 86, of Sioux City, Iowa died Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 Friday, September 8, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 Thursday, September 7, 2017 with a Prayer Service at 6:00 at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sioux City.
Joan was born November 24, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Bolin) Studley. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Central High School. Joan married Alcid ‘Lee’ Cote January 29, 1949. Together they made their home here in town. Over the years she worked at Shopko and was the lunch lady at Lincoln School.
Joan was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Joan and Lee enjoyed camping and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with the kids and grandkids and her activities at the church.
Survivors include, 7 children, Linda (Michael) Tritz of Sioux City, Susan (Sam) Pahl of Jamestown, ND., Steven (Jonie) Cote of Sioux City, Christine (David) Pinney of Sioux City, Paul Cote of Sioux City, Lisa Cote of Sioux City and Barbara Marcotte of Hinton; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Cote of Sioux City; 22 grandchildren, Nick Cote, Melissa (Bob) Cote-Merrill, Amy (Scott) Cote-Elwell, Tiffany (Lane) Yoder, Shane (Holly)Tritz, Brandi (Troy) Estill, Jason Boltz, Summer Boltz, Shane, Savana and Whitney Pahl, Sabrina (Paul) Seaton, Jennifer and Jamie Cote, Josh and D.J. Pinney, Shanna Schonrock, Sam (Clay) Conrad, Tyler (Danielle) Bennar, Brittany Bennar, Casey and Chance Marcotte; 31 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee; son, Mark; and a brother, James Studley.
