Jesse Garrett Dean Dye, 32, of Sioux City, IA, passed away August 12, 2025.  There will be a private service for family with a celebration of his life open to all friends and family on August 23, 2025.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Jesse was born on July 1, 1993 in Sioux City, IA to Alberto Hernandez and Teresa Kay.  He was then adopted by Dennis and Lana (Wieck) Dye.  He grew up in Sioux City, IA and graduated from West High School in 2011.  While growing up Jesse participated in numerous sports and activities including basketball, baseball, soccer, football, tae kwon do, and snowboarding. Jesse loved being around his friends and family.  He met his girlfriend, Genesis Rivera in Sioux City, IA and together they moved to Houston, TX where they lived for several years with their German shepherds, Drako and Duke, who brought him endless joy and companionship. Jesse also cherished the lifelong bond he shared with Kodi and Dylan Urquidi, who, though not related by blood, were his brothers in every sense - sharing countless moments, laughter, and memories together.

Jesse eventually moved back to Sioux City where he enjoyed reading, watching movies, hunting, and being outdoors.

Those left to honor his memory include his former girlfriend, Genesis Rivera; best friends: Kodi and Dylan Uriquidi; siblings: Maria Huynh and her son, Levi; Gage Dye; D'Andre Treglia and his son, Beni; Erik Hernandez; Erika Hernandez and her sons: Julian Wilkes and Amiri Deal; his biological parents, Teresa Kay and Alberto Hernandez.

He is preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Dennis and Lana (Wieck) Dye, and his biological sister, Faith Kay.
