Jerome Charles "Doc" Hansen, 88 of Sioux City, died Friday, May 23, 2025, in Sioux City.  A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May, May 25 from 11-2:00 p.m. at The Izaak Walton Clubhouse in McCook Lake, SD.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Jerome was born on February 25, 1937, in Sioux City, IA, the son of Jens and LaVera (Kain) Hansen. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1956. On July 16, 1960, Jerome was united in marriage to Shirley Marks at St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Jerome worked for Raskin Packing Company for 25 years, and later for 15 years at Gateway 2000. Jerome was a coach for the St. Boniface youth football team. He enjoyed waterfall hunting, fishing and golfing. Jerome was a Green Bay Packers fan, and he really enjoyed watching his grandkids during their sports activities.

Jerome is survived by his daughters Joni (Steve) Goergen and Karen (Les) McLaren, his sons, Terry (Cindy) Hansen, Michal (Renae) Hansen and Shane Blackford, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Ginger Grimm, Vickie (Wayne) Krueger and Mary Lou Foster.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, parents, a brother LeRoy Hansen and 2 sisters, Judy Bossow and Kate Bowman and a great granddaughter baby Lucy Hansen.
