Jeremy Dean Kunze, age 32, of Sioux City passed away on Monday August 5, 2013 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday August 8, 2013 at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff with Pastor Jason Wiersma officiating. Mr. Kunze will be cremated following the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 pm until service time with the family present after 4:00 pm. Jeremy was born in Sioux City on December 7, 1980, the son of Kim L. and Linda J. (Thacker) Kunze. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Community Schools.

From the age of 2, Jeremy always wanted to know how and why things worked as they did. He loved working with his hands and was very talented in small engine repair, as well as working with all types of mechanical devices. He loved joking with his brother, and always said that his brother was his hero. Jeremy worked with several different carnivals, as well as several other places. He was very adventurous and cherished the time that he could spend at Swan Lake just enjoying nature. His proudest accomplishment was that of being a father to his son Tyson. He became very spiritual in his life for the last few years.

He is survived by his mother Linda of Sioux City, his step-father Denny Gnewuch of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, his son Tyson Carter Kunze-Hansen of Sioux City, and his brother Jason and his wife Anne of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Jeremy is also survived and loved by his many aunts, uncles, and their families as well as his two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father.
