Jerald “Jerry” James Walsted, 81, of Sioux City, IA, passed away October 4, 2024.  A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, October 16th at 4:30 p.m. at Horizon Family Restaurant, 1220 Tri View Ave, Sioux City, IA.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Jerald was born on March 27, 1943, in Sioux City, IA to Roy and Frances (Noehl) Walsted.  He graduated from Heelan High School and was united in marriage to Connie Demers in 1964.  Jerald worked at the Sioux City Journal for several years before joining the teamsters in Sioux City.  He also helped Connie with the maintenance on her rental properties.  Jerald worked on and restored classic cars his entire life, and especially liked Mopar cars.  He enjoyed spending time with friends having coffee or in someone’s garage helping with their latest project.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters: Kimberly Ann Nilsen and Suzette (Denny) Fanning; granddaughter, Bree Ann Henkel-Walsted; lifelong friend and partner, Connie Walsted; siblings: Lawrence (Margie) Walsted, and Mary Kay (Brian) Adam, numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends: Tony Schumacher and Bruce Schulte.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Jimmy, Tom, Paul, and Valene.
