Jeffrey L. Preston Sr.

Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Preston, Sr., 68 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away at home on Monday, May 25, 2026 surrounded by family and loved ones after a long battle with health issues. A Celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Harvest Church, 305 Sergeant Square Drive, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church, and family will be there starting at 11:00 AM.

Jeff was born May 10, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa; he was the son of Harry and Nellie (Lowry). After graduating from West High he continued his education at Western Iowa Tech Community College. He married Kathy (Smith) Fender and in this union they were blessed with two sons and a daughter; they later divorced. Jeff later remarried Kerri (Plucker) Preston and was blessed with two more daughters; they later divorced. Jeff worked many jobs over the years including driving for a cab company, delivering pizzas, a manager at Hardee's, Sabre Industries, Gateway Computers, and at Wells Blue Bunny.

Jeff was a yes man; he was the kind of man who would help anyone he could. He had the gift of gab and would make friends wherever he went. He loved country music from the 50s to the early 90s. The Beatles and CCR were his favorite bands. Jeff also enjoyed watching westerns, if he could stay still long enough to watch them. But the most important thing Jeff loved to do was spending time around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Jeffery (Hilary) Preston, Jr., Eric (Jessica) Preston, and Anna Preston, his girlfriend, Marcy Kimble, five grandchildren: Amber, Jordon Lyli, Kaylyn, Gracie, and one great grandson, Tate.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters: Shauna Preston and Brenda Anderson, as well as his five siblings: Andy, Stu, Janel, Mike, and Jack.
