Jeffrey Wayne Monell, 56, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, August 23 at Embassy Healthcare Community. Celebration of Life will be held from noon until midnight at The Throttle Bar on Highway 75 on Sunday, August 25. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.
Jeff was born January 25, 1957 in Iowa City, Iowa. He grew up in the morningside area and attended Washington elementary and graduated from East High in 1975. He enlisted in the Army in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1979. He married Becky Cullen in 1988 and had two sons: Jake and Kelly. Jeff was a truck driver for Brower Construction and Goldsmith Trucklines. He loved to go camping and fishing, and would go every chance he could.
Survivors include Jacob Monell and Kelly Monell (Shana Barbee), grandchildren Jaydan Rae Monell, Honesty Monell, Ty Johnson, and Kelly Monell, Jr., brothers Tom and Kim Monell and Greg and Stacey Monell of Sioux City, sister Barbara and Cal Stolpy of Benson, Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Sally Monell.
