Jeanne Marie Plantenberg age 71 of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on January 18th, surrounded by the love of her family.   A funeral Mass will be held for Jeanne on Tuesday, January 23rd at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in Sioux City, IA.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Jeanne was born on January 23rd, 1952 to Betty Newell and Roger Steers. Jeanne grew up in Sioux City, Iowa in a houseful of love, with her 3 sisters and a brother and being in a home full of so many girls, she and her siblings have lots of fond memories of the fun they all had together.

On June 5th 1971, Jeanne married the love of her life, Danny Plantenberg.  The two of them were a team and together they loved to go bowling and spend time with family.

When Danny suddenly passed away at age 56, Jeanne’s strength and love for her family held her heart, until through death, she was once again united with her sweet husband Danny in Heaven.

Jeanne loved her grandchildren with every fiber of her spirit – she never missed a sporting event, was the biggest cheerleader to everyone and you could always find her in the stands making friends. She will be missed very deeply by those who loved her.

Jeanne is survived by her children  Joann (Javier) Marquez, Tony (Kim) Plantenberg, Lynn (Brent) Weringa and Jason Plantenberg.

Also, all of her loving grandchildren Greyson and Brooklyn Marquez, Morgan Dehning, Tyler Plantenberg, Korryn Plantenberg, Emily and Sean Tomes, Ashley Beisch, Aaron and Ashley Weringa, Anthony, Aaron, and Madison Plantenberg.

Also surviving Jeanne are her sisters: Becky (Larry) VanRooyan, Sandy (Rick) Wyatt, Roxy (Johnny) Schleis.  Brother/Sisters in laws: Norma Colt, Norm (Lois) Plantenberg, Dianne Meacham, Merle (Kaye) Plantenberg, Kevin (Bev) Plantenberg, Kenny (Patty) Plantenberg, Marcia Gubbels, Rita Gill and Larry Beaty, and Jerry (Lisa) Collins.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Danny, her brother Terry DeJong, her grandson Sean Beisch, and many other in-laws and nieces and nephews.
