Jean M. Plueger, 64, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at a local hospital. A celebration of life service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 13 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave; followed by a luncheon at noon. Face mask is optional.

Jean (Bray) Plueger was born on Nov. 8, 1956, in Sioux City, IA, daughter of Robert Bray and Frances Bray (Graham). She married Edward A. Plueger in 1974 and together they had three beautiful daughters. In 1988, two years after their divorce, she met her loving partner of 18 years, Daniel R. Chicot.

In her early days with Ed, she was known as the #1 pool player in the league, collecting many trophies along the way. In her later years she enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and listening to music with Dan.

Jean loved spending time with her daughters and grandkids, traveling with them to the Black Hills every year and celebrating her birthday at a hotel; making blankets for anyone who requested one; playing the slot machines with her parents and sisters; going to Jason Mraz concerts with her girls; embroidering gifts for her loved ones; and caring for her many adopted kittens over the years.

Grandma Jean loved to support Sophia's art, purchasing many of her creations. Grandma and Corby loved listening to music together. Cavan loved snuggling up with grandma watching 'Cops' together.

Anyone who was blessed to know Jean will tell you that she was a shining light, an unconditionally loving, kind, sweet, and uplifting soul. Her faith in God gave her the strength to always find the blessings. No matter who you are or where you came from, Jean had a place for you in her heart. Many of her loved ones will tell you that Jean was their favorite person.

Jean will lovingly be remembered by her children, Angela Plueger, Melissa Plueger, and Amy and Justin Corkin; three grandchildren, Sophia Kite, Corby Corkin, and Cavan Corkin; siblings, Janet and Tom Murphy, Mary and Tim Kelley, and Lisa and Richard Grant; first husband, Ed Plueger; several nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her best friend and soul mate Daniel R. Chicot in 2006; parents, Robert and Frances Bray; siblings, Linda Fuller, Rick Bray, and John Bray.
