Janice Lea Patterson (Kingston) was born on September 3, 1935, to Roy and Laverna Kingston. She passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 11, 2025.

Janice was raised in Nebraska with her 5 siblings. She attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and upon completion, worked as a telephone operator in Sioux City, Iowa, until she married and began to care for her own family.  Janice married Paul Herman Patterson on September 7, 1957, and they were blessed with two daughters.

Janice is survived by her daughters Lori (Marty) Heger of Sioux City, Iowa, and Amy (Brian) Howard of Jewell, Iowa; grandchildren Chris (Kylie) Mogren of Decatur, Georgia, and Mackenzie Mogren (Carter Olk) of Grimes, Iowa, as well as a great-grandson Cooper Mogren of Decatur, Georgia.

Her surviving siblings include Maxine Justice of Ft. Myers, Florida, Karen Bryant of Waxahachie, TX; and Larry (Sue) Kingston of Big Lake, Minnesota.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband Paul; father and mother, Roy and Laverna Kingston; a brother, Jerry Kingston, and a sister, Lila Diaz.
