Obituary

Janice Rae Millerage76 of Sloan,Iowa formerly of Sioux City
was called home on November 19th 2012 at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be held on Friday, November 23rd at 11:00am from Waterbury Funeral Home. Visitation with family present from 9am-11am. Ms. Miller will be cremated following the service. Burial will be at a later date. Online condolences for the family may be made at www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

Janice was born on February 22nd 1936 to Griffin and Ruth (Barcal) Barker. She attended Sioux City Schools and graduated from East High in 1954. She married Tedford Miller November 3, 1956. They were later divorced. To this union five children were born.

She was employed with Interbake Foods for 25 years. She was a member of Bakers Union 433 and served as a union steward retiring in 2001. In her retirement she worked at Quizno’s enjoying talking to and meeting new people. She was a member of Morningside Chapter OES 502 Eastern Star.

Her hobbies were bird watching, bowling, flower gardening, playing cards, and Wahoo. She was an avid fan of the Sioux City Musketeers in earlier years and was infamously known as the “Chicken Lady” (gotta love her.) You won’t find a more loyal Minnesota Vikings fan (Hail to the Queen!)

Mom was a very loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother. She supported her children in all of their endeavors: (good, bad, or otherwise).

She will be missed by her family which includes: Two daughters Patti and Don Surber, Belden NE, Toni and Robert Duthoy, Valdosta, GA, Two sons Timothy and Laura Miller, Sioux City, IA, Matthew and Becky Miller, Sgt. Bluff, IA.
Eleven grandchildren: Amber, Nicholas, Heidi, Aaron, Ryan, Bennie, Melissa, Brent, Matt, Austin, Madison and her eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special niece Pauline Collins

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lynn DeBruyne, and a daughter Rebecca (Becca) Lea.

She was greatly loved and adored by all who knew her. Love you Mom, you are our rock, you were a blessing to all those that knew you.
