Janice "Q-Ball" L. Hunwardsen, 81 of Correctionville, Iowa died Sunday, June 9, 2024, at a Sioux City hospital.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, June 17, 2024, at 10AM at the Correctionville Cemetery for both Butch and Q-ball.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held following at the Little Sioux Park shelter house in Correctionville.

Janice was born on March 7, 1943, in Anthon, Iowa the daughter of Daniel and Pauline (Creek) Deeds. Janice attended school in Danbury. On November 26, 1960, Janice was united in marriage to Roy "Butch" Hunwardsen at the Correctionville United Methodist Church.

Janice loved having family and company over to the house, and hosting morning coffees for her family.  She also enjoyed rearranging furniture and changing curtains.  Tuesdays she enjoyed going to lunch with who ever wanted to join her for chicken and noodles.  She also enjoyed garage sales and shopping. The highlight of her days was when the great grandsons would stop for a snack after school.

Janice is survived by her daughters Sharmon (Ronald) Riedesel and Jeannie (and her friend Kenneth Seidel) Hunwardsen; her grand-daughter Monique (and her special friend Wally Hinote) Johnson; 3 great grandsons, Kaydin, Paxton and Dash; 5 brothers, Jerry (Laura) Dixon, Dan (Pat) Deeds, Randy (Brenda Hayes) Deeds, Rick (Carol) Deeds and Milo (Reta) Deeds; 2 sisters, Lana (Larry) Whitesell and Tootie Bumsted; 2 brothers in law Dale Hunwardsen and Gary (Mary) Hunwardsen;  2 sister in law Lois Gotliebson and JoAnn Hunwardsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, parents in law Otto and Ella Hunwardsen 2 sisters, Agnes Albers and Sandy and Richard Albers 3 brothers in law Gaylon Gotliebson,  Earl Hunwardsen and Jerry Bumsted; and 4 sisters in law Rosalie Hunwardsen, Vera and Burdett Lorenzen, and Sally Deeds.
