Janice Kay “Jan” Eastman, 78 of Lincoln Nebraska passed away Friday, June 9, 2023  in Jefferson, SD surrounded by family.

Graveside services will be held 11am Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City Iowa.

Jan was born December 23, 1944 in Sioux City, the daughter of Fred and G Catherine (Hooker) Brinkerhoff. She graduated from Central High School in 1962.

Jan worked for Ralston Purina, starting in Sioux City in the 70s.  She worked her way up from record keeper to office manager, moving with the company through many transitions to Marshalltown Iowa, Omaha Nebraska, and retiring from the Lincoln Nebraska location. Jan enjoyed traveling and going on ocean cruises, bowling, spending time with family, and playing games like scrabble and cribbage.  She was a 200+ bowler in her day and placed well in national tournaments. She rarely missed an opportunity to play games with the kids, occasionally even on the Wii.

Jan is survived by her three siblings Carol Smith, Ron (Sandy) Brinkerhoff, and Bette (Jeff) Clark, two sons Scott (Arlene) and Edward (Karen), her grandchildren, Natasia, Roman (Sara), Sheriden, Bethany (Kezden), Victoria, Joey, Laura (Ron) and Douglas, her great grandchildren Braxden, Liam, Zaleigh and Layla.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
