Janet C. Krone, 68 of Sioux City, died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at a local care facility.

Memorial services will be held 11 am Wednesday at Southern Hills Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 pm Tuesday, with the family present 6-8 pm at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave.

Janet C. Krone was born on April 18, 1947 in Paducah, Texas, the daughter of Jack and Billie Jean (Killgo) Marks. The family moved to Sioux City in 1960, and she graduated from East High School in 1965.

Janet started working at Sioux City Brick and Title as a bookkeeper, and later worked at Advance Industries where she met her future husband, Rick Krone. On July 16, 1977, she was united in marriage to Rick. Most recently, she worked at the Sioux City Public Schools where she tutored students.

Janet and Rick enjoyed going to Estes Park Colorado on vacations. It was their favorite place for 20 years. Janet enjoyed being with her family and friends, and playing cardgames and dominoes. Janet was a charter member of the Temple Baptist Church, later renamed the Southern Hills Baptist Church.

Janet is survived by her husband Rick; two sons, Nick Krone of Des Moines and Jeff Krone of Sioux City; and her brother, Kenneth (Renee) Marks of Greeley, Colorado; and her father and mother in-law’s, Richard and Anne Krone.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
