Janet L. Hariluk, 49 of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be held 11 am Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Faith Lutheran Church. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to time of service. Janet was born on March 22, 1962 in Auburn, Washington, the daughter of Dennis and Mary (Harder) Gregory. She graduated with double honors from the Auburn High School in 1980.
On May 17, 1991 she was united in marriage to John Hariluk in Mahnomen, Minnesota. John’s work enabled them to live many towns across the country. They moved to Sioux City during 2001. Janet worked at “My Quilt Shop” in Sergeant Bluff during the past few years.
Janet enjoyed quilting her crocheting, cross stitching. She loved planting flowers and enjoying their beauty. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and the Quilters Guild.
Janet is survived by her husband John; her sons Travis of Sioux City and Jacob of Fargo, North Dakota; her daughters, Chelsea Hariluk of Sioux City, Theresa Thompson of Norfolk, Virginia, Jennifer Koel of Detroit Lake, Minnesota and Jessica Hariluk of Fargo, Minnesota; her mother Mary Gregory of Sioux City; her sister, Sandra Davis of Sioux City, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Dennis and her step mother, Paula.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center.
