Obituary

James "Bim" Stewart, age 74, passed away on May 7, 2026, at 12:13 am. Born on December 9, 1951, Bim was the beloved son of Donald Lee Stewart and Leona May Irwin.

Visitation with the family will begin at 10 am Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, with the funeral service beginning at 11 am. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

A man of great character, Bim was known by all as hard-working, smart, and strong. He was a true legend in the roofing industry as the Owner of Stewart's Home Improvement, where his work ethic was second to none. Bim was "old school," known for providing spectacular quality and pouring love into every job he touched. His dedication and craftsmanship left a lasting impact on his community and the trade he mastered.

Outside of his work, Bim found peace and joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, but he was perhaps happiest with the wind in his face, riding his Harley Davidson. His love for his motorcycle and the freedom of the open road was a defining part of his spirit. Above all, his greatest passion was the time he spent with his loved ones; he cherished every moment shared with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bim was married to Nancy Rae, and was later married to Rhonda Raye Wiley. He was a dedicated father whose legacy lives on through his family.

He is survived by his children, Jessica (Andrew) Lofgren, Michaelene "Mickie" Jackson, Christina (Charles) Morgan, Jennifer Stewart and Jenna Grant.

Bim’s legacy continues through his multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Bim was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Leona; his wife, Rhonda; his daughter, Shelby; his brother, Jerry; and his sisters, Donna, Norma, and Vicky.
