James William Rapacki, 58 of Sioux City, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at a local hospital, after a sudden illness

A Memorial Service will be held 7:00pm Friday, July 21, 2017 with Military Honors by the United States Air Force at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Scattering of the ashes will be held at later date in Chicopee, Massachusetts.

James “Jimmy” William Rapacki was born September 27, 1958 the son of John and Aranda Rapacki of Springfield, Massachusetts. Jimmy served his country in the United States Air Force with Security Forces and Communications. A gentle giant, his life was one of simple means, preferring to read books as to the other pursuits of life. Jimmy spent most of his life as a cook in various restaurants.

Jimmy lived in Massachusetts for most of his life, primarily in the Chicopee area. He then moved to Powder Springs, Georgia, and then eventually to Sioux City, Iowa.

Survivors are a sister, Kathy Rapacki of Gainesville, Florida, and four brothers; David Fournier of Casselberry, Florida, John Fournier of Sioux City, Iowa, Michael Rapacki of Rockford, Illinois, Daniel Rapacki of Sioux City, Iowa, and numerous nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents.
