James R. “Jim” Gibson, 68 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away at his home on Monday, July 31, 2023. Service will be held 11:00am Friday, August 4, 2023, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jim was born November 10, 1954, in Blue Earth, Minnesota the son of Russel and Avalda (Mueller) Gibson. He graduated in 1973 in Ledyard, Iowa. Jim was united into marriage with Catherine Eickholt on February 20, 1982. He worked at Artsway Company as a welder and then LeBlanc in Sioux City as a welder then into sales contracts for Sabre Communications, retiring in 2018.

He enjoyed collecting sport cards, hats, and sports memorabilia. Jim loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his two sons, Daniel (Kendra) Gibson, Andrew (Gayle) Gibson, three brothers, Jerry (Pauline) Gibson, Glen (Leslie) Gibson, Keith (Barb) Gibson, sister, Carol Meyers, and two wonderful grandchildren, Karson and Marshall.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Catherine in 2022, and one brother, Dean Gibson.
