James Clarke Orrell, age 59, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Friday March 22, 2013 at his residence.

Services will be held at 11:00am Thursday March 28, 2013 at Waterbury Funeral Service with Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in North Carolina. James was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on November 3, 1953, the son of Earnest Clarke and Mary Charlotte (Lewis) Orrell. He grew up on the beach in Wrightsville, North Carolina and lived in North Carolina until moving to Sioux City in 1994.

James formerly worked for Gateway, MCI, and Stream Global Services until his illness prevented him from working in 2011.

James loved the ocean, boating, surfing, golf and baseball.

He is survived by his son Christopher Orrell and his wife Sarah of Michigan and a daughter Mary Margaret Orrell of Columbus, Ohio, his fiancée Candice Kaas of Sioux City, his step daughter Ashley Hicks and her husband Brandon of Sioux City, a sister Jane Orrell of Charlotte, North Carolina one granddaughter Oakley Orrell and a step granddaughter Hannah Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial fund in James’ name has been established and should be directed to the family for designation at a later date.
