James was born on February 21, 1946 in Carmel, California to James and Meryle McKinzie. Jim served our country in the Vietnam War for four years as a combat Marine and developed Agent Orange. Jim worked for Waste Management and Gill Hauling before retiring. After his retirement he enjoyed spending his time at Bob Roe’s Point After visiting and joking around with his friends.
Jim was a good friend to many and considered his friends to be his family. He was always lending a hand to anyone in need. He had a sharp wit, great sense of humor, kind spirit, and a big heart.
Jim loved to play darts and played at Cattleman’s Lounge and The Doghouse. He also loved golf and watching the Iowa Hawkeye games. To his good friends he was known as “PBR Man” for his love of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Jim will be greatly missed as he was loved by many.
Special thanks to the staff at the Sioux Falls Veteran’s Hospital for the excellent care and compassion he received.
