James M. “Jim” Gregory, 78, of Onawa, IA, passed away June 16, 2024.  A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, June 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Dakota City Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, IA.

Jim was born on October 19, 1945 in Waterbury, NE to Harvey and Hazel (Robert) Gregory.  He graduated High School and went on to attend Green River Community College in Auburn, WA.  Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965 and served in Vietnam.  He was united in marriage to Ann Baele on January 6, 1973 in Auburn, WA, to this union they had 2 sons.  Jim worked for Shell, Pacific Car and Foundry, and as a package handler for Boeing in Washington.  In 2012 the couple moved to Sioux City, IA.  Jim loved his 1963 Chevy Impala that he restored.  He took it to many car shows and won numerous awards.  Jim was a hard worker, a dedicated husband and father, and will be missed.

Those left to honor his memory include his sons: Jesse James (Sherlon) Gregory, Marshall James Gregory; niece, Sandy Davis; 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters; 1 great-granddaughter and 1 great-grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann; 5 brothers; and 1 sister.
