James E. Lodge, 76, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery following services. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.


Jim was born on November 20, 1941 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Harry and Winifred (Coder) Lodge. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1959 and then served in the Air National Guard as an Air Technician with the 185th TFG. He retired as Master Sergeant in 1994. For several years thereafter, he worked for Sioux City Community Schools.


Jim married Lenore Buelt on November 23, 1963 in Halbur, Iowa. Together they had three children: Jeffrey, Steven, and Kathleen.


Jim was a newly approved trustee of the VFW Post # 1973 and enjoyed going to coffee with the RATs (Retired Air Techs). He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.


Survivors include his wife, Lenore of Sioux City; children, Jeffrey (Liza) Lodge of California, Steven (Tamara) Lodge of Minnesota, and Kathleen Dickerson of Sioux City; sister, DeLana Williams of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Nico, Emily, Karah, Kieran, and Tiffany; and great grandchildren, Riley and Elias.


Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
