Obituary
James E. “Ed” Jones, 62 of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at a local hospital.
Services will be 3:00pm Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff with Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.
James was born on May 28, 1952 in New Albany, Mississippi the son of Scott and Wilma (Hall) Jones. He attended Forest Hill High School in Jackson, Mississippi. James is the youngest of his family. He also joined the Military. On December 10, 1998 James married Barbara (Fairbanks) in Elk Point; SD. He was an over the road trucker for Arrow Trucking, and then worked for Udell Trucking doing local hauling, retiring in 2013.
He really enjoyed working on old cars and owed a 57 Chevy that he just recently sold to one of his good friends, hunting, fishing, leather craft work, teaching his grandsons, and reloading ammo.
James is survived by his wife Barbara of Sioux City, one daughter Misty (Garry) Minton of Whiting, one sister Margaret (Otis) Cole, and two grandsons Paul and Dakota.
He is preceded in death by his parent’s, two brothers Jimmy Jones and Scott Jones III.
