James "Jim" Henry Skoglund

James “Jim” Henry Skoglund, 81, of Sgt. Bluff, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 20, 2025 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 29 at 10:30 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Jim was born on August 8, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Henry and Thelma (Beckwith) Skoglund. He graduated from Central High School in 1963 and later earned a degree from the University of South Dakota. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in Germany before being honorably discharged.

On January 26, 1967, Jim married Judith “Judy” Robbins. He worked as a FedEx courier for more than 30 years before retiring.

Jim was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and a lifelong duck hunter. He enjoyed fishing and driving around town, often stopping at Mike’s Mini Mart and Casey’s. He was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Jim was hardworking, quiet, and deeply loyal. He will be missed by many, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Skoglund; sons Todd (Jen) Skoglund and Aaron Skoglund; siblings Jerry (Margie) Skoglund and Suzanne Hood; grandchildren Jacob, Emma, Ethan, and Toby; great-grandchildren Brooks, Bethany, and Londyn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
