James Michael “Jim” Green, age 64, of Aurora, SD, passed away on Monday, November 12 , 2018, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Celebration of Life will be from 5-8 P.M. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City 4125 Orleans Ave. on Friday November 16 , 2018.

Jim was born on July 19 , 1954, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Bonadean Peterson. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Leeds High School.  He later attended culinary school.  Jim became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, and worked for Westwood Nursing Home in Sioux City.

Jim married Roseanna Johnson on June 13 , 1974. They later divorced.  Jim later met his significant other, Dale Elhoff in 2002.  Jim moved to Aurora, SD, to be close to Dale in 2007.  Jim worked for the United Retirement Center and Brookview Manor, before ill health forced him to retire.

Jim loved to cook, garden, and dance. He also adored his pets.  While living in Iowa, Jim enjoyed watching the Sioux City Musketeers.

Survivors include his significant other, Dale Elhoff of Aurora, SD; his children; Joe (Renée) Green, Jami (Greg) Burgess, and Brenda (Chris) Persinger all of Sioux City; grandchildren, Erica Peplinski, Jeremy (Charity) Peplinski, Matthew (Haley) Peplinski, Brianna Norris, Brandon Norris, Josie Green, Payton Green, and Madison Green; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Wright; sisters, Verdadean, Carole Dean, and Judydean; and grandson, Austin Peplinski.  Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
