James J. Gehrig, 23 of Sioux City, IA passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020. A Celebration of Life for James will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

James Joseph Gehrig was born on March 2, 1997 in Sioux City, IA the son of Regina (McDonald) Gibson. James was a 2015 graduate of East High School, and then attended the Culinary Arts Department at WITCC. James had worked at the Greek To Me restaurant in the Sunnybrook Mall.

James loved to cook and also was an avid computer gamer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

James is survived by his mother, Regina “Ginny” Gibson and her husband Ken, of Sergeant Bluff, sisters, Stefani and her husband, Jared Lohrman, and Nikki Lamphear both of Sioux City, Seth Mauer and Joe Prior-Miller,were considered by James as his brothers, nieces and nephews, Zayden, Marilyn and Winter Lohrman and Anthany Connor.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his father.
