James “Jim” D. Baldwin, 73 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Friday, September 22 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. James will be cremated and Interred with his wife, Patti, in Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00am Tuesday, October 3, 2023, with Military Honors provided by the United States Army and the American Legion Post 662.
James was born November 1, 1949, in Meadville, Pennsylvania the son of Kenneth and Bessie (Russel) Baldwin. He grew up in the Kinsman Ohio area, graduating from Kinsman high school in 1968. James joined the military and was a heavy equipment operator for the Army while serving in Korea until 1971. On July 13, 1973, he married the love of his life, Patti Wimer and they settled in Sioux City to raise their four sons.
He worked at a few different jobs but spent the majority of his time as an over-the-road truck driver, even owning his own trucking company for a while. He enjoyed fishing, sitting on his deck nature watching, tinkering in his garage, and letting grand kids get away with things his kids could never get away with.
James is survived by his four sons, Kevin (Tracie) Baldwin, Michael (Cecilia) Baldwin, Harry Baldwin, Patrick Baldwin, seven grandchildren, Samantha, Dylan, Caden, Sadie, Amelia, Julia, and Robert, and 1 great grandchild, Damien. James also leaves behind a sister Donna smith of Kinsman Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patti (Wimer) Baldwin, parents, sisters Sherry Baldwin and Ann Holler.
