James L. “Jim” Clark, 78 of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life Ceremony will be held 5 pm Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. James United Methodist Church, 2032 S. Cypress Street in Sioux City. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
James Lyle Clark was born on January 3, 1938 in Sioux City, the son of John J. and Violet (Pry) Clark. He graduated from East High School in 1956. Jim married Clarys LaVonne “Vonnie” Whyte in 1958, and they had two daughters, Kimberly and Jamie.
Jim was an iron worker for many years and was very active in his church. He loved drag racing, hot rods and model trains. Jim was a devoted family man.
Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years Vonnie; daughters Kimberly (Curt) Carter and Jamie Clark; grandchildren Joshua Clark, Regan (Austin) Noble, Jacob Clark, Carrie Carter and Katrina (Jason) Lengyl; and his great-grandchildren, Hayley, Levi and Aron; his brother Earl (Marlene) Clark; as well as many nieces, nephews and very good friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dean Clark.
