Jacob Thompson, 34, of Sioux City, Iowa joined the pantheon of legends on May 5th, 2021.
Jake entered this world, May 29th, 1986, an unexpected surprise when his mother, upon hearing "it's a boy!" heard the surprising follow up: "and it’s another boy!" This is the way he lived his life: by his own rules. Jacob could walk into a house of strangers and then walk out with a house full of friends. He treated everyone as his best friend. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved and always looked out for the underdog, much to the chagrin of his parents, as he brought home many a pup in need of a home. And though he loved a good debate, if you needed someone, you knew you could count on Jake. He would be there for you, whether the mediator of disagreements or just a listening ear, fully and without judgment. His was a pure heart of kindness and compassion.
Jacob was always laughing and always making others laugh. He would rarely be seen without his Broncos bracelet, repping his favorite team. He was the best two-handed bowler his friends knew. And he would school anyone with his extensive superhero knowledge, which he fostered at a young age, in an old, musty attic full of dress-up clothes and graphic novels. He was the best right-hand man and his parents' favorite prep cook.
Jake is survived by his father and mother, Daniel and Katie Thompson, a twin brother, Zachary Thompson, and an obnoxious older sister, Cassie Thompson (Ben Hunnel) all of Sioux City, Iowa as well as a myriad of friends as good as family.
He was preceded by his grandparents, Betty Thompson, Noel Thompson, Glen Richards, Dorothy Richards and beloved pets, Chloe, Chewbacca, Tiny, Sarge, and Remi.
Jake joins the hallowed halls of heroes, forever in our hearts.05/
