Jaclyn R. Caldwell, 77 of Kemp, Texas formally of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Services will be held 11:00am Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jaclyn was born on august 16, 1945 to her parents, Harold and Reva Anderson of Sioux City, Iowa, where she attended grades 1 through 12, graduating from East High School in Sioux City as the leader and head majorette in 1963. Then continued her education in Cosmetology School and starting her carrier as a hairdresser, working in this trade for 14 years until1978. In 1965 she married Valentine Sitzmann, and from this marriage came the loves of her life; two sons Marty in 1965 and Scott in 1967.
In 1972, Jaclyn moved from Iowa to Mesquite, TX. Living at the same home until moving to Marty and Kelly’s about 14 months ago during her illness. When she moved to Mesquite in 1972, she worked as a hairdresser for a while then later she gained employment doing clerical work for Holt Caterpillar.
After her first marriage, she met and married Tim Caldwell around 1982, and together she and Tim owned and managed a commercial electrical company for 15 years.
Jaclyn was an avid bridge player and a big fan of pro football and baseball. But her favorite pass times was attending, watching, and supporting her boys in their many sports.
In 1951 she received Jesus as Lord and Savior, at Morningside Presbyterian Church, in Sioux City, Iowa. During her first marriage she was the good wife following the religion of her husband. Then later, returning to her foundational roots. During her many years, her favorite singers were Elvis of course and Barry Manilow. Her favorite movies, you guessed it, Hallmark.
Jaclyn fought the good fight of faith and the illness of COPD and EMPHYSEMA so valiantly; no one knew she had it until just a short time ago. Then on February 14, 2023, she made her final journey to be with Jesus.
Jaclyn is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Reva Anderson, and brother, John Anderson.
She is survived by her son Marty and wife Kelly Sitzmann, son Scott and wife Sherri Sitzmann, brother, Jim Anderson, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
