Obituary

Jace Owen Terreault, 11, of Sioux City, IA, went home to God unexpectedly following a motorbike accident on Saturday, October 7, 2023.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Sunnybrook Community Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery.  Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City is handling the arrangements.

Jace was born on July 11, 2012 in Sioux City to Scott Lee and Erin Elizabeth (Herrera) Terreault.  Jace always had a smile on his face.  He was in 5th grade at Leeds Elementary and could always be found cracking a joke and making others laugh with his incredible sense of humor and funny faces.  With his adorable face, big green eyes, and amazing smile he was quick to make friends.  He loved to sing, ride his bike, go fishing, play baseball and football, classic cars and video games.  He was member of Sunnybrook Community Church and an avid collector of Pokémon cards.

Though his life was brief, his memory lives on in his friends and family.  Those left to honor his memory include his mom and her fiancé, Erin Herrera and Matt Sheehan, Sioux City, IA; brother, Gabriel Herrera; sister; Elizabeth Terreault; step-sister, Peyton Allyn-Sheehan; grandma, Diane Terreault, Elk Point, SD; grandpa, Rick Munoz, Dakota City, NE; great-grandma, Rosalie Ray, CO; aunts and uncle: Roshelle (Jay) Choate, Sioux City, IA, Raquel (Mark) Oatman, South Sioux City, NE, Sandra (Jake) Smith, Elk Point SD, Stephen (Brittany) Terreault, CO; and lots of cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his Dad, Scott Terreault; grandma, Susan Munoz and grandpa, Edwin Terreault.

Jace made a lasting impression on everyone who knew and loved him.  His far-too-short time here on this earth will leave a void for many.  Jace’s loved ones have ensured his legacy will live on through his organ donation, and through that generous decision, Jace will touch countless others.  The family would like you to consider giving the gift of life by becoming an organ donor.

The family is especially grateful for all who have reached out and offered support during this difficult tragedy.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.  Take a moment to think of Jace.  Remember his silliness and joy, and let those memories inspire you to show kindness.
