Irene "Nanie" Elizabeth Sales, 72, of Sioux City, IA passed away May 25, 2025.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Irene was born on November 8, 1952, in Houston, TX to William and Judith (Lopez) Koltes.  She grew up in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Lincoln High School. She was united in marriage to John Sales on June 29, 1998, in Sioux City.  Together they enjoyed camping, cruising around, and riding in the side by side.  Irene could always be found sewing, listening to oldies, gardening, or shopping for hours at Walmart.  She loved spending time with her family and watching sci-fi TV shows with her great-granddaughter.  She will be missed by many, especially her best friend…her dog Peenut.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, John Sales; daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” (Mike) Bodlak; son, Johnny (Katie) Rivera; 5 grandchildren: Krystal, Zack, Lilly, Faye, and Lilah; great-grandchild, Peyton; siblings: Karen, Brenda, Linda, Mark, and Cheri.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Gary and Bill.
