Hope L. Shreve, 46 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at a local hospital. Services will be held 10:30am Thursday, January 13, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Salix, IA. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm with the family present from 5-7 and a vigil at 7pm at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue.
Hope was born February 28, 1975 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of William and Bonnie (Moreau) Shreve. In 1993 Hope graduated from Westwood High School. She continued her education at Morningside College earning her degree in Elementary and Special Education. Hope taught in Macy and Jackson Schools, Head Start of Nebraska, and Sergeant Bluff School in Iowa. She was currently with Siouxland Community Action Agency as a preschool teacher in the Head Start Program. Hope was born to be a teacher; she loved every minute of it. In her spare time, she enjoyed attending Sioux City Musketeer hockey games, reading and loving her pets.
She is survived by her two brothers, William (Carla) Shreve, Dennis Shreve, five sisters, Janet (Tony) Yanak, Roxanne Shreve, Nancy (Dan Garson) Tafoya, Daphne (Duane, Sr.) Folsom, Anita Comstock, and her Best friend, Julie Ambroson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hope is preceded in death by her parents.
