Herbert James Mapes, age 69, of Sioux City passed away Sunday November 17, 2013 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday November 22, 2013 at Word of Life Ministries located at 1478 Buchanan Avenue in Sioux City with interment held at a later date. Herbert was born in Sioux City on April 17, 1944, the son of Alva and Marian “Bolhman” Mapes. He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City and enjoyed going for bus rides.
He is survived by his brothers Alvin and Clarence “Pete” both of Sioux City, his sisters June Mohr and Florence Kinney both of Sioux City and Elva J Houts of Council Bluffs, and his significant other Judy Williams and her three children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Judy and a brother Billy.
