Heral L. Jensen, 83 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at a care facility in Sergeant Bluff, IA surrounded by his family.

Services will be held 10:00am Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Wesley United Methodist Churh. Burial will be in Smithland Cemetery, with Military Honors provide by United States Army and the American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm with family present from 5-7 pm and prayer service at 7pm Friday, December 27, 2019 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Heral Loy Jensen was born on April 28, 1936 in Mapleton, IA the son of Alfred and Ethel (Andrews) Jensen. He grew up in Mapleton, Iowa graduating in 1955 from Mapleton High School. Heral married Lois Hanson in Castana, Iowa on January 13, 1963. He worked for Wilson Trailer for 5 years as a welder, and then went to work for Brower Asphalt Company and retired after 30 years.

He enjoyed racing his stock cars at the South Sioux City Race Way Park and Interstate Speedway. Heral also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Sergeant Bluff American Legion, and the Sioux River Muzzleloaders Association.

Heral is survived by his wife Lois Jensen, two children; Gary Jensen and Mike and his significant other Trudy Smith all of Sioux City, IA, brother, Donald Jensen of Shelby, IA, sister, Margaret (Jim) Hall of Lebanon, Mo, five grandchildren; Kayla, Ashley, Andrew, Jessica, and Cole, and 10 great grandchildren.

Heral is preceded in death by his parents and one older brother, Frank Jensen.
