Helen Ann Karnes, 85, of South Sioux City, NE. passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023. Per her request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Helen Ann Karnes was born Sunday, September 26, 1937 in Allen, Nebraska to Clement and Frances (Gensler) Casey. She grew up in Laurel, Nebraska.

Helen was a bank teller in South Sioux City and enjoyed helping others with their banking needs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, looking forward to shopping and dinner dates. She will be missed by many.

Helen is survived by her daughters; Cheryl Peterson and Rhonda Schutt; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; brothers; Don (Corrine) Casey, of South Dakota and Mike (Dottie) Casey of Alabama; sister, Suzanne Mos of O’Neil, Nebraska; special friends Michele and Gerry Gatzmeyer, Judy Clark and Carolyn Veers.

Helen was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Karnes and her son-in-law, Don Peterson.
