Heath J. Hembd

Heath J. Hembd, 50, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by his family on August 31, 2025 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  A visitation will be held Monday, September 8, 2025 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Heath was born on December 29, 1974 in Sioux City, IA to Nathan and Leona (Whitehorn) Hembd.  He previously worked at Beano & Sherry's Casino for 9 years as a cook. Heath was united in marriage to Melissa Whipple on June 22, 2015 in Sioux City, IA.  He enjoyed cooking; one of his specialties was his sticky rice and peppers.  He also loved movies, especially Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel and DC.

Those left to honor his memory include his dad, Nathan (Laurie) Hembd; mom, Leona (Steve) Stanley; siblings: Heather Hembd, Adam (Brandon) Hem-Burg, Rebecca (Luke) Fibonacci and Rusty (Temple) Woodley; his former wife, Melissa Hembd; step-daughter, Kyla Miller; grandchildren: Jaxx and Charlie; nieces and nephews: Sombot, Lucas, Alyca, Alexandra, Kaley, Ben, Zachary, Josh, Leland, Bella, Jake, and Logann.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Nikki Winters and his grandparents.
