Harry Dam Jr., loving husband and father of 3 passed away at the age of 84, on Sunday May 9, 2021. Funeral Services will be 10:00am Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Harry was born on March 28, 1937 in Sioux City Iowa, to Harry Sr. and Marie Dam.  He attended Central High School where he played basketball and was on the track team.

On Dec 23, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart Mary Elizabeth Berger, and has remained married for 65 years. They raised two sons, Brian and Greg, and a daughter, Karla.  Harry served with the U.S. Naval Air and was stationed in both San Diego, and Japan. After serving he started his first job in California as a warehouse worker where he moved up to become the plant manager. He left there to follow his two passions, building things, and ice cream. So, he started a construction co. and then opened a yogurt shop.

Harry enjoyed coaching little league baseball. His hobbies were skeet shooting, deep sea fishing, and golf. He loved board games, playing cards, and he was an ace at corn hole.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, three children, Brian (Ellie), Karla (Ryan), and Greg (Hollie), two sisters, Marion and Harriet, five grandkids, Michelle, Jacob, Kendra, Brad, and Trevor, two great grandkids, Wyatt, and Conor, and all his friends from Newberry Springs Community Church.

Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry Sr., mother, Marie, and two sisters, Dorothy, and Janette.
