Obituary

Harry Eldon Bridgett, 77, of Sioux City, IA, passed away January 23, 2024.  A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, May 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the South Dakota VA Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

God needed another angel to join him in heaven, so he took Harry to join the heavenly choir and his father Louis Bridgett who preceded him . Harry was an accomplished guitar player. He loved music, dancing, being playful, and enjoyed life to the fullest. Listen to this song “Dancing in the Moonlight” and you will remember his smiling face and twinkling eyes and remember him as he would want to be remembered.

Harry was a consummate lifelong learner. He was always looking to learn new skills, whether card games, pool, or making corded bracelets for family and friends.

During his life, he worked at Zenith, as well as for the city as a garbage truck driver. However, the job he was most proud of was when he was 20 and joined the Air Force as an Air Policeman. Therefore, he will be buried with honors at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery (25965 477th Ave Sioux Falls, SD), on May 10th, 2024, at 2:00 pm.

Harry also had a soft spot for helping others and volunteered at the homeless shelter a few years ago. He would be very pleased if everyone would donate in his name to the Gospel Mission, https://thegospelmission.org/ , in Sioux City, Iowa, instead of buying him flowers.

Although he was never married, he was very close to his family. Harry is survived by his mother, Louise (Buhman) Bridgett. His sister Catherine Larsen and her children Yvette Briley (Bart), Lori Mullen (Michael), Jonnie Larsen (Crystal), Chad Larsen, and Mary McIndoo. His sister Shirley Simmons and her children, Travis Simmons, Betheen Simmons, and Christopher Simmons, and many great nephews and nieces and many friends.
