Wyant
February 7, 1919 – July 10, 2018
Gwendolyn Maxine Wyant entered into glory to be greeted by her Savior on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. She was born February 7, 1919 on a farm 4 miles south of Allen, NE to Irvin and Hazel (Allen) Fegley. She was born during a severe snow blizzard. She grew up in the Allen, NE area attending and graduating from Allen Consolidated School in 1937. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co in Sioux City, IA until her marriage to Walter Wyant of Allen on July 10, 1938. They made their home in Allen until Walter served 3 years in the armed services during WWII, when they lived in California. After the war the family lived in Sioux City, Newcastle, WY and Powers Lake, ND and back to Sioux City before retirement where they lived in Cherokee Village, AR. Walter passed away in 1992 after which Maxine moved back to Sioux City.
Other than the gift of her salvation, her family was her greatest joy and delight. She spent a busy, productive and blessed life and managed to make her faith evident in the chores of daily life. She crocheted and knitted many afghans and sweaters as gifts to her family and people she loved. She also took up golf later in life. She loved attending church where she was surrounded by fellowship, song, prayer, study and discussion of the Word. She spent many years teaching Sunday School and Bible School. She was a member of Morningside Bible Church. She was a loving attentive wife and especially devoted and affectionate mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, yet we all rejoice in the assurance that she now lives in Heaven with the Savior whom she spent her whole life walking beside.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son Richard and his wife JeriAnn Wyant of Sioux City. Daughter Susan and husband Jimmy Hamilton of Scottsdale, AZ and daughter Lynne of EL Paso, TX. Eight grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great, great granddaughters, nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, her sister, 2 half-sisters, a daughter-in-law and an infant son.
