Gloria L. Thompson, 80, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at a local hospital. Services will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 and a prayer service at 6:45 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following services.

Gloria was born on February 10, 1938 in Sioux City to Cleo and Roma (Nyreen) Donovan. She married Albert Sherrill, together they had five children, they later divorced. Gloria married Duane Thompson on July 22, 1976 and she helped to raise his four children.

Gloria was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Shriner Campers. She enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, crocheting, and playing bingo.

Survivors include her husband, Duane Thompson; children, Albert Sherrill and his wife Joyce, Doug Sherrill and his wife, and Linda Barreras; step children, Steve Thompson, Tony Thompson and his wife Joy, Renee Montriuel, Tabitha Lower and her husband Tim; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; one sister and her husband, three half brothers, two sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, two grandchildren, two sisters, two sons-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
