Gloria Bernal, 66 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at a local hospital, surrounded by her family. Services will be held 6:00pm Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Visitation will be held from 4-6pm at the funeral home.

Gloria was born on July 22, 1956, in Binbaletes, Zacatecas the daughter of Ignacio Bernal and Teresa Torres. She attended Point Loma Nazarene University, CA. She worked as an entrepreneur until she retired.

Gloria is survived by 5 children, Daniel Zuniga, Gabriela Cortez, Claudia Cortez, Angelica Cortez, and Laura Cortez, two adopted daughters, Laura S. and Miranda M., her long-time partner, Claudio Cortez, mother, Teresa Torres, 16 grandchildren, five brothers, Joe Bernal, Nacho Bernal, Manuel Bernal, Junior (Kimberly) Salinas, Tony Tanguma, sister Anna (John) Gallegos, 13 nieces and 7 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ignacio Bernal, and a brother, Frank Bernal.

As Selina Benitez would say "Your mama become so important to me in such a short time. I'm glad to of giving her all the love and care she deserved and got for the last year and days of her life. I'm never ever going to forget about her. I'll be practicing what I gave to her to others I take care of for the rest of my life."
