Glenn D. "Danny" Smith, 70 of Sioux City, died Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Sioux City.
A Celebration of Danny's life will be held 3-5 pm Saturday,August 19, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue, with Military Rites provided by the US Army at the funeral home.
Glenn Duane Smith was born on May 13, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Glenn and Jean (Cory) Smith. Glenn graduated from Central High School. Glenn served in the Army for six years after graduation. Glenn was married to Nancy (Martinsen) Smith in 1970. They were later divorced.
Glenn worked over 30 years as a machinist at Prince Hydraulics, retiring in 2009. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his kids, fishing camping and boating. He was a member the International Association of Machinist and AeroSpace workers.
Glenn is survived by his sons, Greg Smith and Barry (Shawna) Smith of Sioux City, one grandson, Taylor Burns, his mother, Jean Smith of Sioux city and one sister, Jerri Winston of Washington, also by Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers, Clifford, David and Merle Smith.
